We are a process-driven organization that understands all facets of new technology development. In 1995, our founder developed the 4D Product Development Process while working as a Program Manager at Battelle Memorial Institute, the world’s largest nonprofit R&D organization.
This process is now being followed by numerous companies as their de facto product development process. Meet our founder, Brad DeRoos
Mr. DeRoos, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, has 40 years of experience in new technology R&D and technology commercialization. He developed the 4D Technology Development Process while managing over 40 R&D efforts during his 13 years at Battelle and has leveraged the 4D process to deliver advanced technology to both commercial and government marketplaces.
He has been nationally recognized for his work, including the receipt of two R&D 100 Awards for top new technologies of the year, “Technology of the Year” and “Research and Development Star” awards from Industry Week Magazine, and the Federal Laboratory Consortium Technology Transfer award. His works have been highlighted in magazines including Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, Business Week, Design News, Wired, Industry Week and Research & Development (R&D). He has been published in numerous technical journals including Sensors and IEEE. Mr. DeRoos has presented at a broad range of industry and government conferences – from The International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems to the IEEE Haptics Symposium. His professional life has been dedicated to taking the guesswork out of new technology and product development.
